The start of the new season was upon us and with the new I'D card system in operation, some players hadn't been registered in time, also a couple of our players had injuries, which meant we had only ten players 20 minutes before k.o i thought that we would have to forfeit, however with a late arrival we decided to start with the minimum allowed of 11 players.
After looking at the opposition and there more than full squad both parents and coaches thought that it would be very hard game for the eagles. A good start saw us take the lead which seemed to both galvanise our squad and have a diverse effect on the opposition and after a lot of hard work and a mini revival by rockets saw the teams level at half time at 8 points each. Eagles team talk at half time was all about how hard our team had worked and that they had already made everyone watching proud however none of the boys seemed happy with that and all thought that they could get more out of the game. Well they showed every one watching that this season Wallsend Eagles U'13s are the ones too watch by putting on an absolutely awesome performance in the 2nd half with every single one of them putting an individual and team performance they should be proud of. With Wallsend going on to win 36 points to 12 it was a game where both myself and Joe run out of words on how good we felt they had played. Teamsheet Trys scored Conversions Andrew Brownhill 1 Liam Cosgrove 4 James Charlton Jonathon Lowes Will Doyle 1 Craig Banks 1 Rhys Davis Max Wilcock Mitchell Mullen 2 Kory Bradley 1 Alex Taylor It was a very hard choice for man of the match however it was given to Craig Banks due to the fact he played the whole match with an injury {seeming like he played on one leg for most of the match} so we didn't have to forfeit. Overall a really hard won win with all the team playing out of there skins..... well done. |
