The game started with a touch of dropsy by the Eagles as it took them 15 minutes to complete a full set but they still managed to score 3 try’s in that time. The 1st after 5 minutes by Adam Atkinson, who played in an unaccustomed role in loose forward, but fit into the position as if he had played there all season. The Eagles then fell behind for the only time in the game to a very well worked try, scored by Tiger’s number 6 with the kick also added. The Eagles then burst into life with a try straight from the kick off by Rob Reid, making his impressive debut after his transfer, which put the Eagles in front and that’s where they stayed as only3 minutes later a well worked try the full length of the field saw Alex Glover score in the corner and 2 minutes later he scored his 2nd in exactly the same spot, with both kicks missed due to the high winds. A further try by Josh Taylor in the opposite corner brought the score to 22 – 6 at half time.
The 2nd half saw the Eagles play sum great rugby. The Eagles scored a try by another debut boy, Mickey Fisher, 2 minutes into the 2nd half to make it 26 -6 followed by Adam Atkinson’s 2nd try under the posts. The Eagles then seemed to think they had done enough and allowed the Tiger’s number 13 to run through the defence and score on 39 minutes and kick the extras. This seemed to stun the Eagles back into life as further try’s from Rob Reid, Patrick Sowter and Lee Colman pushed the score to 50 points to 12. On 54 minutes Sinc Matthews finally got on the score board with the Eagles last try of the game to round off a great display. The only sour note was the injury to half back Patrick Sowter, 1 minute from time as he was carried from the field after another excellent display which saw him so close to winning the man of the match for the 3rd game running Final score Eagles 56 Tigers 12 Scoring 5 mins 4-0 8 mins 4 – 6 9 mins 8-6 14 mins 12 -6 17 mins 16-6 25 mins 22 – 6 32 mins 26 – 6 34 mins 32 – 6 39 mins 32 – 12 42 mins 38 – 12 44 mins 44 – 12 49 mins 50 -12 58 mins 56 – 12 Todays man of the match was Marty Mullholland Ealges Team
